wonderful wedding weekend - part one

Our dear friends, Max and Simone, were married this past weekend. The wedding and all the festivities surrounding it were uplifting, sweet, festive, heart-warming, and joyful. I am so thrilled to have been included in this magnificent celebration of a most marvelous couple.

The wedding weekend began on Friday with Shabbat services at their local temple, during which they were blessed by their Rabbi. The singing was lovely, the rituals were beautiful, and the Rabbi's speech was deeply moving (he spoke about the historical relationship between Jews and Martin Luther King Jr.). The reception that followed allowed me the opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. In short, it was a super evening.

Saturday afternoon Alex and I attended the open house at Max and Simone's, where we continued our socializing and cheerful celebration. I had an awfully good time being silly with Ben and Loren, whom I hadn't seen since my wedding. Here are some pictures from the open house:
