Lazy Boy's Lament
by Jack Arnold
Fiendish felines ferment fury
by dropping bloody body in a hurry!
Jack's Lazy Boy was their place of choice
which caused its owner to be loud of voice!
Little Squeaky meowed with feline pride
with parts of prey deep inside!
Lord Katz and Lady Mewer joined the fray
by flipping the pack rat every which way!
Oh! What is a distraught owner to do
but to scold his cats and throw his shoe?!
Let me warn you long-tailed rodents that gnaw
here awaits an unspeakable fate of tooth and claw!

where did you get that rat----it fits
the poem perfect-----even though they
roam the property at night I see little evidence of a sucessful hunt
they either are losing rheir edge
or rodents give their hunting grounds
a wide berth

The image is just something I stole from the Web by doing a Google image search for the word "rat."

I can't imagine that Lordy or Squeaky are losing their edge, so it must be that they've sent the message out to the rodent world that they're the bosses.
