beaches & bluffs

This week's hiking classes stayed close to the ocean, which proved perfect for the weather.

Loon Point Beach Walk

In the begining class on Tuesday we explored Loon Point, which is just south of Montecito and a location new to me. The high tide barred our way at some points, but we persevered nonetheless. Our meditation was refreshing, even if I did get a bit sunburned.

Ellwood Beach and Bluffs Walk

Thursday's intermediate hike was both easier (than the Gaviota hike the previous week) and much closer to home. We spent a couple of hours following the many criss-crossing trails on the Ellwood bluffs, walking a ways along the shore, and meditating. It was one of the more relaxing hikes thus far.
