art card of the day

Here, as in a number of other occasions, I employed the use of sewing pattern paper. It is tissue-like, thus pliable and fun to crumple. And the garment pattern itself has the most interesting and varying lines and text, which can make for a very unique foundation for a collage. In this art card, I played with the lines in the pattern, both horizontal and vertical. I also made use of a green pastel stick to highlight the crumpled edges of the pattern paper. Numbers and words always intrigue me and thus often find their way into my collages. I don't often have a particular meaning in mind. Rather, I like to let the juxtapositions and relationships suggest their own meaning, as understood by the individual viewer.
