collage workshop

I attended another excellent art workshop yesterday: collage making, by Mary Ellen Long, whose collage work is totally inspiring! Understated, sophisticated, elegant. I wish I had some images to share here.

The workshop was held in the artist's studio in her home. She opened her studio drawers to the three of taking the workshop and encouraged us to make whatever we wanted, utilizing her impressive collection of materials. Four of my own collages came out the workshop. One was lousy, in my opinion, so I've scrapped it. The other three I'm feeling pretty good about and have posted them below.
