Ebony's portrait

About seven years ago my friend and I commissioned a painting of Alex's late, beloved cat, Max. He was painted by a talented pet-portrait artist, Darlene Pucillo (puci). About three years later Alex and I commissioned a portrait of our sweet little Kitter. You can see my post about Kitter here. And puci's website is here.

Now that Ebony is in our lives as well, we wanted to have a portrait of her to add to the collection.

The process started with me emailing puci a digital image of Ebony. We chose this one to send her:



Once puci received the photo, she worked up a number of options for the details in Photoshop and emailed them to us. In this case, she gave us four options for the background:

We selected the third option and are thrilled with the finished 8" x 8" painting:



The 3/4" edges of the canvas are painted a beautiful green that perfectly matches Ebony's eyes.
