In Loving Memory of Pops

John “Jack” Arnold

March 3, 1931 – July 14, 2015

John “Jack” Arnold, 84, of Carmel Valley, CA, died July 14, 2015. He was born in Michigan on March 3, 1931.  As a young man, he moved to Southern California, where he served in the US Air Force and worked for ITT Gilfillan. Later, he moved to Northern California. Jack was a resident of Carmel Valley for 43 years. He owned and operated a home repair service for much of that time – he could fix almost anything. He loved to hike and he often wrote letters to the Editor of The Monterey Herald.

Jack is survived by two children, Nancy Arnold (Alex) Harris of Monte Vista, CO, and Chris (Jamie) Arnold of Carmel Valley, CA. He is also survived by his step-children, John (Barbara) Greenway of Carmel Valley, CA, and Catherine (Dennis) Lincoln of Carmel Valley, CA, as well as their children and grandchildren. In addition, Jack is survived by his former wife, Marguerite “Peggy” Arnold of Alamosa, CO. and his good friend, Ed James of Carmel, CA.

A public memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1 at The Garland Ranch in Carmel Valley, CA, where he frequently hiked.
