John “Jack” Arnold

2015
John “Jack” Arnold, 84, of
Carmel Valley, CA, died July 14, 2015. He was born in Michigan on March 3,
1931. As a young man, he moved to
Southern California, where he served in the US Air Force and worked for ITT
Gilfillan. Later, he moved to Northern California. Jack was a resident of
Carmel Valley for 43 years. He owned and operated a home repair service for
much of that time – he could fix almost anything. He loved to hike and he often
wrote letters to the Editor of The Monterey Herald.
Jack is survived by two
children, Nancy Arnold (Alex) Harris of Monte Vista, CO, and Chris (Jamie) Arnold
of Carmel Valley, CA. He is also survived by his step-children, John (Barbara) Greenway
of Carmel Valley, CA, and Catherine (Dennis) Lincoln of Carmel Valley, CA, as
well as their children and grandchildren. In addition, Jack is survived by his
former wife, Marguerite “Peggy” Arnold of Alamosa, CO. and his good friend, Ed
James of Carmel, CA.
A public memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday, August 1 at The Garland Ranch in Carmel Valley, CA, where he
frequently hiked.
