family time

The primary purpose of my trip home to Carmel Valley was to deliver my mother's computer and get her started with using it. But there was plenty of socializing with family sprinkled throughout my five-day visit.

Here's my mom (Peggy), sister (Cathi), brother (Chris), and his friend (Jamie) after an afternoon of dining and shopping together:

One afternoon, my mother and sister and I went to lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Monterey then saw American Gangster together. (The film was excellent, though violent at times, and the acting was phenomenal.)

Here's the three of us at P.F. Chang's:

On yet another afternoon, a few more of us met for lunch in Carmel. (Below are, from left to right, my brother Chris, my sister-in-law Barbara, Chris' friend Jamie, my niece Jenny, my sister Cathi, and Momma.) Cathi, Mom, and I continued on to the movies to see Atonement, a beautifully crafted film, which made me CRY. [More on current movies I recommend soon.]
