With a coat of rich golden paint and some shiny new hardware, I was able to muster up this far more appealing dining room component:
The dining room itself, however, won't be able to function as a bona fide dining room until we are able to move out my office furniture and supplies. And that can't happen until the back room (with Alex's office stuff, tools, and other things) is reorganized. So, for now, we'll just keep eating on our laps in the living room. But I promise, when the dining room is up and running, you'll be welcome at our table.

I has always been my opinion (unvoiced, of course) that this cabinet was, HANDS DOWN, the stand-out WORST part of his entire mobile home. I was actually OK with the mid-century wood paneling (although painted it obviously looks much more up to date, lighter and brighter) but I never could reconcile myself to that particular cabinet.
I wonder if when you move to CO he'll want to bring the 150 #s or so of his Y2K canned food collection? *snicker* Love my friends, and their quirks, too.
