art card of the day

I quite enjoyed making this black-and-yellow-themed art card. Well, to be honest, I have enjoyed making virtually every collage in my collection. This particular one developed out of some paper towels stained with black India ink, which was then embellished with security envelope paper, the edge of a bubble form, a swatch of painted paper, and a bit of yellow thready/tissuey paper. It has kind of a primal yet industrial feel, if that makes any sense.

3.5" x 2.5" / $5.00

Having read many posts of your artistic ingredients, I'm reminded of the concept of improvisation.

I suppose improv in this context would be someone handing you 6 different materials & saying, "Make something."

As for myself, I prefer creativity with words, but if everyone were like me we'd have few items of great beauty (Renoir) or ugliness (Frida Kahlo): simply the unadorned functionality of East Berlin architecture. So it's a good thing there are many different types in the world.

And when it comes to creativity with words, I prefer yours to mine. I know talent when I read it.
