This collage uses an illustration from an antique Japanese book, which I hand-colored. The red and green strips are origami. So, essentially, it's a combination of old and new Japanese design.

This reminds me of patterns popular in the late 1920s & early 1930s. Be it wall paper or dresses, this style was all the rage.
