I see them everywhere.
Crocs. The plastic shoes, usually clogs, with holes in them. I never found them terribly attractive, but people I know swear by them. In particular, a nurse who wears them at work where she is on her feet for hours and hours at a time. I would never have considered purchasing them myself until my husband was directed by his chiropractor to get a pair to help with his
plantar fasciitis. So, while he was trying on his selections, I decided, for the heck of it, to try on a pair of Crocs myself. Turns out, people are on to something. They're light, cushy, airy (the holes), wide, and they come in lots of colors (chocolate's my fav). But what won me over were the
Mary Janes (see photo to right), which, in my opinion, are much more stylish, more understated, and cuter than the
original clogs. I took a pair home, and now they're my new favorites.
What are you're favorite shoes?

I do my best to only wear shoes that would be comfortable enought to walk in for a many hours/miles at a time.
I haven't actually tried Crocs on, but dear gawd they MUST be comfortable because for an ugly shoe they are stunningly popular. When I think about trying them on, though, I get distracted by all the holes. It rains a lot here in Portland so they'd make bad winter shoes, and I already have 2 pair (brown & blue) of cute summer shoes.
I have recently discovered Keen and OluKai. They both make expensive, wide and very comfortably cushioned shoes.
Other than that I wear running shoes (more lightweight than walking shoes), often by New Balance. I look 1st for comfort and 2nd for not-too-ugly. If it's actually cute I feel blessed.
Hey, it's Debbie here--Alex's sister. You can now get Crocs with a removable fleece lining. The particular style is called Mammoth. My kids have the original clogs (Cayman) with the holes in them, and they look so cute on their little feet, but when I tried them on in various colors, I felt like bigfoot. I even tried the Mary Janes in a funky blue floral print--they were so cute, but I just was not sure about them on my feet. I ended up with Crocs flip flops. They are also squishy and comfortable. I also love the little Jibbitz that you can buy and push into the holes, but strangely enough, even though they are hard to put in, they have actually fallen off the kids' Crocs. Strange.
