Gap Fire Update

As of 8pm last night, the Gap Fire had burned almost 10,000 acres and was approximately 30% contained. I hope that percentage increases rapidly. This state of limbo we're living in is wearing on me. The house is a wreck; everything we most want to keep in case we have to bug out is scattered near the front door. Ordered chaos is the best way to describe it.

Our plans for this past weekend were to work madly on the exterior of the house, moving us significantly closer to putting the place on the market. Didn't happen. The smoke and ash prevented us from going outside and the anxiety and uncertainty kept us from focusing on anything productive. The air condition did improve yesterday, however, so we intend to get something done outside today.

Let's hope this fire doesn't rage on as long as the Zaca Fire did last year, burning for nearly two months. They've brought out the big guns (we're top priority in the state) so our prospects look good. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
