On Sunday, Elizabeth, Mom, Suchita, and I attended a satsang, hosted by Radha and Krishna, as a way to welcome Elizabeth to Durango and allow her to meet some of the people in the Siddha Yoga community here.
[Satsang: (lit., the company of the Truth) The company of saints and devotees; a gathering of seekers for the purpose of chanting, meditation, and listening to scriptural teachings or readings.]
We chanted the Guru Gita, then gathered for a delicious pot luck brunch.
[Guru Gita: (lit., song of the Guru) A sacred text consisting of mantras that describe the nature of the Guru, the Guru-disciple relationship, and techniques of meditation on the Guru. In Siddha Yoga ashrams, the Guru Gita is chanted every morning.]
It was a most lovely and welcoming experience. We all went home feeling quite peaceful.
