Did I mention that I've been taking a beginning construction class at Santa Barbara City College? I figure that if I intend to help build a home in the not-too-distant future, I'd best get some knowledge and experience under my (tool?) belt. In this class, we're essentially learning the basics of how to build a structure from the ground up. In our weekly lecture we discuss, in theory, how to construct things, and in our weekly lab we get hands-on practice. Here I am (above) on the right, in front of the sawhorse my classmate and I built with scraps of lumber during one of our recent lab sessions. It wasn't as easy as it looks, so our smiles express genuine pride in our accomplishment. There's something very satisfying about making a thing with your own hands, isn't there?

Yes, honey, there is something VERY satisfying about making things with your own hands. Things like that excite me most in life. BTW, you wear that tool belt well! Good job on the saw horse. Soon, you will help me build new stairs for our current home. I am glad you are smiling.
Love.
Ms. Nancy - you are hot in that tool belt!!
Awesome job -
xoxo
